Description
Product Description The JeepJazz Project is infused with the melodic, soulful sounds of the 70's and the dusted grooves of the 90's. Live guitars and keyboards float over looped beats and assorted sonic paraphernalia. Old workhorses like the Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer electric piano and Hammond organ, staples of the classic 70's Stax Records R&B sound, are once again brought to the front of the mix. Warm, fat beats keep rolling underneath and the result is a smooth and sensual vibe. No vocals, no rappers, no solos, just lots of attitude. Kick back and enjoy the ride. From the Label The music supervisor and producers of the 1998 Sundance Screenplay winner, "High Art" liked it so much, they picked three songs to put in the movie. In particular, "That's Fat" is featured during the climatic party scene in the middle of the film. "Say, Buddy" and "B-Bird" are also on display. From the Artist This music actually started as some acid jazz demos for Lady Kier from DeLite in late 1996. She switched gears, deciding she wanted drum and bass tracks, but I was having so much fun I just kept writing. My friend, De Harris, came on board and did some guitars and programming as well. He worked on all the tracks with me except "Happy Daze" and "Kiss My Goodbye". About the Artist The creator of the JeepJazz Project is Shane 'the doctor' Faber. He plays guitars, keyboards and bass, fires up the samplers and locks and rocks the whole enchilada. Best known for his ground breaking work with De La Soul, Queen Latifa and Tribe Called Quest, he also produced and mixed the Grammy award winning debut LP from Digable Planets. See more
